The gift that keeps on taking.
Lifelong friend or enemy? Every thing has a secret life. Behind the scenes, in the dark when no one's watching, what do we know of even our best of friends? Waiting motives always reveal themselves, tearing through the mock exteriors that build trust and perfect traps.
This once cozy demon is having his day, powered by the horror of its prior owner and already onto its next victim. The veneer is stripped away to reveal the terrifying truth. Something wicked this way came - not through a hard knock on the door or from the corner of your eye, but freely accepted, as a gift, a trusted companion for cold nights and hot fears.
It's not the dark that's scary. It's your friends in the dark you should be worried about.

The goddess beckons. Flowers seductively lead to the serpent in her womb. She wears a coat of hair that shines like armor, protecting her body as well as her identity. Two sweet and small guards stand at her feet with chains holding them in two of six gloved hands.
Like the Asian ancients before her, she commands power with imagery and attention with metallic. Under her breasts, a skull and heart reside. She houses both life and death. She is a symbol for worship and a vessel for cosmic energy: strong and unsympathetic.
Releasing November 20 in a limited edition of 200, each piece is hand numbered with the artist’s signature engraved on the bottom, and exclusive to black.kidrobot.com and select retailers worldwide.
Pop iconoclast Ron English presents the ultimate black vinyl fetish item – American Depress. A three dimensional depiction of America's Bloated Billionaire Mouse Messiah is crucified upon the mousetrap status symbol of American capitalism: the Black Card.
Ron English reinvents imagery from modern popular culture, manipulating visual symbols to create complex, humorous, and insightful meanings. For American Depress, the urban pop prankster has focused on a beloved character happily entrapped by the consumerism that has made him. The over-stuffed mouse is splayed on a 12-inch tall sheet of black ABS, embellished with gold printing. The card numbers reference the beginning of the royal rodent’s reign, and, a very short time after, the darkest hour in the history of the American economy. From there both iconic rodent and consumer grow to obesity until the card’s expiration date - the day of the foretold apocalypse. Fitted with an indent on the back, this modern relic is built to be hung over all we devour.
Typical of the culture this mash-up of feigned innocence and greed represents, American Depress is available for purchase at the right price and limited to the persistent and the lucky. Each of the 200 pieces in this edition is hand numbered, with the artist’s signature engraved on the back.

The unsuspecting only see the near-perfect human likeness – enticing eyes, supple mouth, lithe body - little noticed are the breasts of dripping poison and malicious intent.
Emerging from the cool, smoky depths, fresh from one kill, looking for the next, Lilitu is poised to allure. Calculated stance, intimately glossy, designed for desire – come nefarious courtesan.
